While spending three weeks in Asia recently, I heard many airline executives and aviation journalists talk about India’s rise and how the center of global aviation will shift slightly westward from China to the Indian subcontinent. That may happen over time, but for now, the Central Asian region has been powering on through the pandemic, with Air Astana setting the pace for others to follow.
