The last five years has seen a spike in Sino-Taiwanese tensions, a border/economic war with India, deepening competition with the US, the closure of Russian airspace to Western airlines, and the growth of domestic Chinese tourism at the expense of international tourism. This article will examine the change in Chinese flights to China’s four neighboring East Asian states using data from Cirium (an aviation analytics company).
