The United States Government, namely the Department of Justice ( DOJ) and the Department of Transportation ( DOT), has launched a study into the state of air travel in the US, with the goal of collecting as much information as possible about consolidation and other competition-related factors from stakeholders.

Here’s an odd story for you: A Lufthansa passenger was left feeling confused after their flights from Lisbon to Finland via Frankfurt were retimed. Given the flight timings were altered, the passenger was also offered the option of free rebooking, as is standard. What was not standard was the route offered, with Lufthansa suggesting an alternative via Newark with partner United Airlines.
