Airtel Africa grows customer base despite currency challenges

Indian operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) says it is preparing to launch its commercial 5G mobile services in what is described as a phased manner from March 2025.

MTN Group warned that its annual profits could plunge by 90% due to the devaluation of the Nigeria’s currency affecting its MTN Nigeria unit. 

Vodafone Idea will launch 5G services in Bengaluru tomorrow (11 June), marking the latest step in its phased rollout across India. The operator is aiming to reach 17 cities with commercial 5G services by August.
