The iconic Boeing 757 mid-sized airliner boasts a capacity of up to 228 passengers and a range of 3,900 nautical miles. The Boeing 757 represented a major leap for its time being as much as 80% more fuel efficient than the Boeing 727 trijet it replaced and proved a successful project (and a loved aircraft by the pilots who flew them). One of the more curious historic Boeing 757 operators was 
British Airways, which used them on domestic routes before eventually replacing them with smaller Airbus aircraft.
