Piper is one of the most prominent general aviation aircraft manufacturers in the world. Along with Cessna and Beechcraft, it is considered to be one of the “Big Three” of general aviation. The large aircraft manufacturing company was first founded as Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company in 1927. However, in 1930, William T. Piper purchased the company and reorganized the company. One of the founders, C.G. Taylor, was named as President and Piper took over as an executive role.
