The aircraft now features the RNZAF Kiwi Roundel and No. 40 Squadron’s mariner’s compass, after finishing work at the Lockheed Martin production line in Georgia, United States, according to a public statement on 15 February.
Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, Transport Minister Catherine King said the firm, which took ownership of Rex in a $172.5 million deal last December, had “given significant undertakings to the government around regional connectivity”.
The airline, which was spun off following the Rex collapse in 2024, has commenced services to the Nifty copper mine in the Pilbara this month for Cyprium Metals following the launch of its route to Marble Bar for AIM late last year.
