From naval-inspired pilot uniforms to modern aircraft navigation systems, it is difficult to exaggerate just how much Pan Am ushered in the modern aviation industry. Among Pan Am's greatest contributions to the airline industry was PANAMAC – a revolutionary computer system. PANAMAC proved to be so successful that it served Pan Am from 1963 until the airline's bankruptcy and collapse in 1991.
