The Senate Committee has approved the FY 2025 Defense Appropriations Bill, which is aimed at “providing US military services with the funding needed to deter China and Russia…” The measure was passed unanimously and provides $851.7 billion in discretionary funding, some 2.3% higher than the President’s budget request for FY 2025. The Senate bill includes a number of important developments for Air Force and Navy aircraft procurement and development. The US Air Force had previously requested to divest 250 aircraft and procure only 121 in FY 2025.
