California approves Siemens AP220 trainsets for its high-speed rail network

California has approved a contract with Siemens Mobility for its first three high-speed trainsets, with options for another 19 units. The Velaro Novo-based trains will operate at speeds of up to 354 km/h, with testing in California planned from 2030.
