Steam Festival coming to Lincolnshire railway this July

A steam filled weekend is coming to the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway this July as they hold their Summer Steam Festival.

After 30 years absence, direct services between Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire and London King’s Cross are expected to be restored by next December.

East Midlands Railway has added the Barton Line between Barton-upon-Humber and Cleethorpes to the lines where its GroupSave ticket can be used.

The impressive programme of work has seen one of the canal walls strengthened as well as replacement of rail and trackside equipment

The unique sliding bridge will see 9-days of essential work during which changes to rail services between Doncaster and Scunthorpe will be in place
