How A Turbine Disk Failure Led To A Boeing 767’s Hull Loss in 2016

On October 28th, 2016, American Airlines Flight 383 aborted takeoff from Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD) due to a fire in the right engine. The US-based legacy carrier used a Boeing 767-300ER on its routine service between ORD and Miami (MIA). Unfortunately, on this occasion, the aircraft was declared a total write-off due to fire damage on the runway.
