When one thinks of aviation combat movies, chances are the “Top Gun” franchise is probably the first thing to come to mind. If you’re old enough to remember the 1980s, maybe you remember the “Iron Eagle” series. In the 1960s you had classics like “The Battle of Britain” (starring Michael Caine, Robert Shaw, Laurence Oliver, and Curt Jurgens) and “The Blue Max” (starring a young George Peppard in his pre-“A-Team” days, along with James Mason and the fantabulous Ursula Andress).
