Flexjet was first founded as a business segment of Bombardier Aviation in 1995. The company was originally called Business Jet Solutions and offered flights on Bombardier-built aircraft, including the Learjet 31, Learjet 45, Learjet 60, and the Challenger 600 series. The company began by offering aircraft charter services. However, after Bombardier acquired Skyjet, the company was merged into the newly acquired company, still remaining under Bombardier. Flexjet began offering fractional ownership and a jet card service, which was among the first in the industry.
