The capabilities can be deployed as a complement to Australia’s crewed systems, and are scheduled for delivery in 2025. It comes as the Albanese government has earmarked more than $10 billion on expenditure for uncrewed systems.
The start-up says its UAV systems will be able to carry payloads of 60 to 90kg at speeds of 120km/h, with a maximum range of 1,100km and fuel consumption of 21km per litre.
The first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility will become a regional hub for the maintenance and sustainment of aircraft for the Australian Defence Force and that of our partners.
