Queensland Air Museum, based in Caloundra, is one of 16 organisations receiving grants of up to $1,000 as part of the airport’s inaugural $15,000 Community Support Fund.
The squadron has been returned to service to improve Australia’s maritime surveillance capability and coincide with the arrival of Australia’s thirteenth P-8A Poseidon aircraft. A final aircraft is scheduled to arrive next year.
AMSL Aero, Boresight, and Grabba have been awarded $2.2 million each from the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA), following a “fly-off” demonstration of their capabilities in April.
