United Airlines pilots scheduled to operate a nonstop flight from San Antonio International Airport (SAT) to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) refused to accept the air traffic control’s proposed routing to the US capital, after they identified that the route would take them directly through a severe thunderstorm.
