Toledo crash probe focuses on control error

The investigation into the high-speed train collision near Toledo is focusing on the failure of the LZB signalling system and a subsequent decision by Adif’s control centre that allowed a Renfe AVE train to resume normal running while an Iryo train remained stopped ahead. At least 68 people have been killed, but the definitive cause of the accident has not yet been established.
