Structural steel specialist Severfield plc has secured a place on Network Rail’s £240 million steel supply framework.
Severfield Structural Solutions is one of three suppliers selected for the £70 million steel piles framework, supporting the delivery of overhead line equipment (OLE) across the UK’s rail network.
The six-year contracts, which are due to start in January 2027, come with a possible two-year extension.
The appointment draws on the specialist expertise and longstanding customer relationships of DAM Structures, which joined the Severfield Group in 2021. The business continues to sharpen its focus on its core markets, while strengthening client relationships, pursuing new opportunities, and delivering sustainable growth.
Paul McNerney, chief executive officer of Severfield, commented: “This is an important win for Severfield and reflects the strength of our engineering capabilities and the expertise of our teams.
“Our refreshed strategy is focused on building on what we do best, deepening customer relationships and pursuing opportunities in markets where we have a strong track record. We look forward to supporting Network Rail in delivering critical infrastructure across the UK.”
Phil Cook, Severfield’s UK manufacturing director, added: “We have a long history of working in the rail infrastructure sector, and securing a place on this framework is a significant achievement for the team.
“I am also delighted to announce that Richard Woodhead has been appointed as business unit director of Severfield Structural Solutions. He knows the business and its customers well and is ideally placed to lead us into the next phase.”
