CFL intermodal expands European network with new Luxembourg–Poland connection

CFL intermodal is further strengthening its European intermodal network with the launch of a new rail connection between Bettembourg-Dudelange (Luxembourg) and Wrocław (Poland), scheduled to begin operations on 20 October 2026.
This new service marks another step in CFL intermodal’s strategy to offer regular and reliable intermodal transport solutions across Europe. By connecting Bettembourg-Dudelange logistics hub with one of Poland’s leading industrial and logistics regions, the corridor will create new opportunities for shippers seeking efficient alternatives to long-distance road transport.

At launch, the service will operate with four round trips per week, providing customers with regular and predictable rail capacity between Luxembourg and Poland. The long-term objective is to increase the frequency to six round trips per week by the third quarter of 2027, in line with growing market demand and network development plans.

CFL cargo will provide train traction in partnership with Captrain Polska for the Polish section of the route. At the Wrocław terminal, Schavemaker will ensure handling and connections to regional logistics networks.

Customer support

To facilitate access to the service, CFL intermodal also offers pre- and post-haulage solutions through its network of logistics partners. These services are designed to support customers and transport operators that lack local resources around Wroclaw or Bettembourg, ensuring seamless connections to the rail link and greater operational flexibility.

Designed for the transport of P400 semi-trailers, standard semi-trailers (using dedicated cradles) and containers, the connection combines operational flexibility with environmental benefits. It offers customers a reliable and sustainable alternative to long-distance road transport while ensuring seamless integration into existing supply chains.

With the addition of Wrocław to its network, CFL intermodal continues to expand its presence across key European freight corridors and reinforce its role as a reliable partner for intermodal transport in Central and Eastern Europe.
