Religious observances were held at Gampola Railway Station this evening, organised by the station master and staff, ahead of the station's reopening to public railway services tomorrow(02).

The observances were held as the railway station prepares to resume public operations after remaining closed for 310 days following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

The religious ceremony was organised by the station master and staff to mark the occasion and invoke blessings ahead of the resumption of train services.

Train services to Gampola are scheduled to resume from tomorrow, October 2, 2026. Passengers are advised to check the updated train timetables before travelling.
