The Finnish company Nurminen Logistics has operated a direct rail connection between Örebro (Sweden) and Parma (Italy) since early 2026. Now, customers can reach even more destinations through a cooperation with Tarros Group. Among them are North Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean and Malta.
Nurminen and Tarros are launching a one-stop service creating a coordinated link between the Nordics and Mediterranean. It operates in both directions and customers can already book the service.
The door-to-door offer covers rail, inland and maritime transport, terminal handling, freight forwarding, customs clearance and other documentation according to Nurminen Logistics. Customers do not need to coordinate these stages separately.

We coordinate every stage of the journey, making a complex international transport chain straightforward for the customer,” commented Marjut Linnajärvi, vice president of International Rail Operations and Sales at Nurminen Logistics.
All the way to Africa
The existing Sweden–Italy service by Nurminen offers not only transport on the route. It also offers complementary unloading and storage services and distribution in both Italy and Sweden in collaboration with Lanzi Trasporti, the company explained at the initial service start in February.
The service offering on the Mediterranean side has been expanded further. It now includes Tarros’ maritime network via the Terminal del Golfo in La Spezia, some 109 kilometres from Parma. Freight moves by truck between those two locations.
Tarros’ network connects Nurminen’s corridor with markets across North Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean and Malta. Tarros Group and Carbox provide the necessary inland transport, terminal handling and maritime services.
Nurminen has been operating its block train service between Örebro and Parma with two departures per week in each direction since a couple of weeks. It has a rail transit time of 2.5 to 3 days. The service accepts shipments in individual pallets and other LCL cargo, as well as full container loads and complete trainloads.
