The Douglas DC-8 is one of the most iconic aircraft of the early passenger jet age. It is an early long-range narrow-body jetliner built by Douglas Aircraft Company in many different variants. While the DC-8’s days of ferrying passengers worldwide are long over, its days as a freighter are still going. There are at least three DC-8s still operating todaytwo in the Congo and one in the United States.
