NASA has completed a major test campaign for a lightweight, flexible radar antenna that will enable its proposed SkyFall Mars helicopters to search beneath the Red Planet’s surface for accessible deposits of frozen water.
Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore will now not come home until “no earlier than late March 2025”, back from February, to allow for more “complete processing” for a new SpaceX Dragon capsule.
It comes after Virgin Orbit in 2022 unveiled a similar ambition to turn Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport into a “horizontal launch” spaceport, before the firm collapsed following the failure of its first landmark launch in the UK.
