Commercial aviation in the US has rebounded strongly in recent years, placing renewed pressure on airport terminals that were designed for a much smaller traveling public. While many airports have announced ambitious redevelopment projects, several of today’s busiest terminals continue to accommodate passenger volumes that far exceed what planners originally expected when those buildings first opened.
