United Airlines revealed on Wednesday, January 24, that it planned to begin returning several of its aircraft to service. United Airlines recently grounded its entire fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft at the request of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This initial request to ground the fleet by the FAA came just days after an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 experienced a rapid decompression after its emergency exit door plug was blown out during the flight. The FAA ordered that all Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft were to be grounded and comply with inspections and further guidelines before returning to service.
