Amey wins Network Rail Eastern Region Assessments Contracts

Amey has secured two framework contracts for Network Rail’s Eastern Region known as the Eastern Region Assessment Contract (ERAC).

Awarded in March, the contracts have a combined value of £40 million over five years and will see Amey deliver structural assessment services across both the North and South Lots of the framework, the maximum possible award. The works cover key routes including the North & East, East Coast Mainline, Anglia, and the East Midlands.

The win builds on Amey’s extensive track record in the region, where it has delivered structural assessment services since 2003, demonstrating decades of trusted, large-scale delivery.

Through the ERAC frameworks, Amey will assess railway bridges and structures across the network to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and capable of meeting future demands. Using detailed inspections and advanced engineering analysis, the company will identify structural risks, confirm load capacity and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to Network Rail, supporting informed decisions on maintenance, strengthening and operational requirements. This work will help maintain resilient infrastructure and minimise disruption for passengers, freight and communities.

Justin Page, business director for rail at Amey, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Network Rail through the Eastern Region Assessments Contracts. This award reflects the strength of our long-standing relationship, and the trust Network Rail has in our capability and collaborative approach. We look forward to building on this partnership, helping to inform smarter investment decisions and improve the performance of critical infrastructure across its lifecycle.”
