The Real Reason New York Can’t Build The Airport It Desperately Needs

The area of New York and New Jersey has three major airports within its vicinity, each offering varying levels of connectivity and airline options. However, the proximity of these airports also creates considerable congestion within the airspace and on the ground. This subsequently tends to have a wider impact across the system, particularly affecting the US domestic market. As such, the idea of developing a new (major) airport in the area has been looked at for decades, but has been deemed unfeasible.
