Auckland Airport's hopes of being connected by light rail have had its dreams squashed by the nation's new government, with the multi-billion dollar rail project being canceled by the National party-led coalition government. The Transport Minister, Simeon Brown, recently sent the project to its grave with a stop-work notice issued.
