The onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic and the subsequent sharp drop in airline passenger demand led operators of larger aircraft to reconsider their future. This was especially pertinent for the Airbus A380, being the largest passenger jet in the world, and the uncertainty posed by the global health crisis prompted Thai Airways to retire all six of its superjumbos. According to Planespotters.net, they were withdrawn in March and April 2020.
