Captrain France and BLS Cargo reroute trains due to closure of Rheintalbahn

The trial ran from 29 June to 13 July 2026 and tested a regional freight service covering the full supply chain from loading to delivery.

The company described the project as a shift of volumes previously moved by other transport modes to rail.

Rohrdorfer and ÖBB Rail Cargo Group are moving weekly Fluasit shipments from Gmunden to the Brenner Base Tunnel site. The rail programme is expected to replace around 1,480 truck journeys by 2029.
