DB Cargo recently sold a large part of Transfesa Logistics’ business to Boluda Corporación Marítima. The sale included the company’s brand name, according to Spanish media. Tranfesa Logistics is Transfesa no more.
Transfesa Logistics is rebranding to DB Cargo Iberia. The move represents “the clear focus on international rail logistics and integrated transport and logistics solutions for the Iberian Peninsula.” DB Cargo only kept Transfesa’s automotive-related activities and international traction on board after the sale to Boluda.
“DB Cargo Iberia is thus fully integrated into the brand world of Europe’s largest freight operating company. The realignment provides additional impetus for the further development of international freight corridors between Spain and the most important European freight corridors”, DB Cargo explains.
Heading into the future
DB Cargo Iberia will focus on international rail freight transport, logistics supply for the automotive industry and integrated transport solutions with a strong European network, explains its German parent company.
The new name therefore reflects a rebranding and a change in strategy. Apart from that, business continuity remains: DB Cargo Iberia will continue to operate with the same teams and expertise as before.
Likely, Boluda will retain Transfesa’s name and logo for its newly acquired rail division.
