Korean Air has extended the presence of the Airbus A380 on the world’s shortest regularly scheduled route for the type. The superjumbo was initially only set to connect the South Korean flag carrier and SkyTeam founding member’s main hub at Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) with Narita Airport (NRT) in the Japanese capital city of Tokyo until April of 2026. While much shorter than most A380 routes, there is clearly high demand.

On April 3rd, Emirates reintroduced another Airbus A380 to service. The specific airframe was A6-EDF, which is about 19 years old and nearly double the average age of the carrier’s superjumbos. Its return to service saw an initial round-trip service between Dubai and Cairo. While it was the seventh A380 ever to be built, it was the sixth A380 delivered to the Gulf carrier; those that arrived sooner have since been retired or stored.
