AFL CEO Pushes for Australian Football at 2032 Brisbane Olympics

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon announced high-level talks with organisers to bring Australian football back as an exhibition sport at the 2032 Brisbane Games, citing the 1956 precedent.

He promoted the league’s popularity amid rivalry with NRL, noting record crowds over 451,000 last year, while Brisbane 2032 president Andrew Liveris welcomes showcasing Australia’s football codes.

Challenges include the sport’s limited global appeal and venue issues like tracks at stadiums, but fans buzz with dreams of Olympic gold and international growth.
