Greater Anglia has released the latest episode of its Life on Rails podcast, with Dan from “The Right Track” joining the show to discuss how social media is changing the way people experience and engage with the railway.
The third episode of series three is presented by Dom Rosso and Lucy Wright from Greater Anglia’s Corporate Affairs team and continues to showcase the people, innovation and community work that underpin the operator’s commitment to delivering better journeys for passengers.
Dan, who runs the “The Right Track” YouTube and TikTok channels, shares how his passion for railways developed and how documenting journeys online can inspire people, particularly younger audiences, to explore the network and rediscover rail travel. He also reflects on some of his favourite locations on the Greater Anglia network, from the busy hub of Cambridge to the uniquely remote Shippea Hill station.
The episode also features Greater Anglia colleagues, including a return of the Careers Clinic with Early Careers and Apprenticeships Manager Viktorija Starling, who offers practical advice on succeeding at interview, and Head of Data and Innovation Leon Kong, who explains how data is being used to improve customer experience and operational decision-making across the business.
As part of the regular News in Spotlight segment, the episode highlights recent Greater Anglia initiatives, including partnership work with Samaritans to mark Brew Monday, foodbank collections that provided more than 1,900 meals for people in crisis, and the opening of new Changing Places toilets at Audley End and Great Yarmouth stations.
Dominic Rosso, Greater Anglia’s Senior Media, PR and Communications Manager, said:
“Dan brings a fresh and engaging perspective on rail travel, and his enthusiasm really shows how powerful storytelling and social media can be in inspiring people to explore the railway. This episode also reflects the fantastic work our colleagues are doing every day to support customers and communities.”
Dan from “The Right Track” said:
“It was great to join the Greater Anglia Life on Rails podcast. Railways have always fascinated me, and sharing journeys online has shown me how many people are excited to explore the network and discover somewhere new by train.”
