Unsealed Epstein Files Detail Trump’s 2006 Call to Police Chief

Newly released files from a 2019 FBI interview show Trump urging Chief Michael Reiter to target Maxwell as Epstein’s ‘evil’ operative, saying he had banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago after spotting red flags and was among the first to tip off investigators.

The call came in July 2006, after the Palm Beach sex crimes investigation leaked publicly, with Trump recounting fleeing a scene with teenagers present.

These details emerged from over 3 million pages unsealed under the 2025 Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed by Trump himself, amid the financier’s probes that ended in his 2019 suicide and Maxwell’s 20-year sentence.

Supporters see it as early whistleblowing; critics note the timing after news broke, with no recordings to confirm beyond Reiter’s account.
