Leicestershire railway promises a full programme of events for May

With summer approaching the Great Central Railway is getting in the mood with a range of events suitable for both families and enthusiasts

Leicestershire railway named Best Day Out

The Great Central Railway was awarded the “Leicestershire’s Best Day Out” award at the 2025 “Visit Leicester Tourism & Hospitality Awards”.

Kids will travel for £1 while dogs will travel free as part of the Easter holiday events planned at the Great Central Railway.

As an antidote to the summer Olympic games, on 10th and 11th August the Great Central Railway is holding its award-winning Railways at Work Gala.
