QTS staff serve up festive joy with local charity

National rail contractor, QTS Group, has donated funds to Armley Helping Hands to provide hot Christmas meals to those in need within the local community.

Armley Helping Hands is a Leeds-based charity dedicated to supporting elderly people living in deprived inner-city areas.

Its mission is to provide a vital lifeline through care, companionship and practical assistance, helping older individuals feel valued, connected, and less isolated.

In addition to the financial donation, staff from QTS’ Holbeck office volunteered at the charity’s annual Christmas party last week, serving festive meals and helping to ensure the event was an enjoyable and memorable evening for all attendees.

QTS Group has built a strong relationship with Armley Helping Hands, supporting the charity during the festive period for the past three consecutive years.

Dawn Newsome, CEO of Armley Helping Hands, said: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to QTS for their incredibly generous support, not only for volunteering their time on the day but also for covering the cost of our Christmas meals.

“This thoughtful gesture truly embodies the spirit of the season. It will make a significant difference to those attending the event, and the savings we make will allow us to continue providing free meals to older people we have concerns about throughout the forthcoming winter months.”

Emma Whyte, social value lead at QTS Group, added: “Christmas is a time for giving, and our team is delighted once again to help bring joy and festive cheer to those who need it most through our continued partnership with Armley Helping Hands.

“Each year, our volunteers support the charity’s festive celebrations to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable Christmas party. The work Armley Helping Hands does is truly invaluable, and we are proud to fund the lunch this year. It is always a highlight of the year not only for the guests, but also for our volunteers, who love being part of the festivities.”
