Just when you thought it could not get any worse for heavy vehicles destroying local and major roads around Melbourne and the state, it seems they have decided now to destroy our rail infrastructre.
Heavy Vehicles are banned from Racecourse Road, Flemington and have been for an extended period. The road freight industry is collapsing and as such could not care about laws and rules. Vicroads do not care either they do nothing for the policing of these dangerous trucks around schools and residential streets.

Now with the West Gate Tunnel Open why has this occurred?
The effect now has been to suspend all rail traffic on that line causing massive inconvenience to innocent rail passengers. People are sick and tired of inaction from Vicroads who have been mandating larger and more dangerous trucks on Melbourne roads without a care in the world.
Why now should this driver keep their licence?
Thoughtful article and cheers to the Durdin chap with the investigative mind.
The article states the traffic modelling was poor and unachievable so the results should not surprise anyone. However, will the current trend of non use continue? How will trucks get around the issue?
Another Raj driver?
Probably a RAJ without a truck licence.
Why would Vicroads do anything about it these days? All they do are the licenses part of transport not the actual roads anymore. That hasn’t been the case for a long time.
Nor would you be looking the local road regulators either.
NHVR is the one responsible for this.
Add to the racist comments already left and it just seems like basic information is missing.
