The Watercress Line in Hampshire is inviting visitors to light up their Christmas on its colourful Steam Illuminations train, which features in its festive programme.
The car park at Harlington station in Bedfordshire, which is already partially closed off as a worksite, will close fully between Tuesday 23 and Saturday 27 December so that a crane can lower a new footbridge into place.
Following its announcement last month, Network Rail has confirmed that it will carry out work on the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) between Leeds and York over the Christmas period and for the whole of January.
