When Was The First Aerial Refueling?

The idea of aerial refueling came when aviators in the early 1900s set out to establish world records for aircraft endurance and range. While efficient propellers could fly nonstop for hours, most record-building exercises were limited by how much fuel the aircraft could carry. Aerial refueling enabled greater range and endurance for early aircraft, allowing them to stay much longer in the air.
