New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani appeared on Fox News on Wednesday, directly addressing President Donald Trump by pledging to prioritize working-class affordability over personal favors, unlike indicted Mayor Eric Adams and former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
He outlined plans to impose a 2% tax surcharge on incomes over $1 million to fund housing, transit, and childcare investments, while apologising publicly to NYPD officers for past criticisms and advocating resource reallocation for better public safety.
On the Israel-Hamas conflict, Mamdani emphasised adherence to international law for all parties but focused on local New York issues ahead of the November election.
