San Francisco International Airport (SFO) closed Runway 28L, one of its primary runways, on Tuesday due to a taxiway improvement project. The closure, which is expected through June, could cause “possible” delays to inbound flights by as much as an hour.

While Boeing 747 aircraft in passenger service are somewhat few and far between these days, examples of the older 747-200 variant are even more so.One particularly interesting example active in recent years has been a testbed plane belonging to Rolls-Royce. The British engine manufacturer had a 45-year-old 747-200B on its books used to test turbofans on flights out of Tucson in Arizona.
