Telecom Egypt appoints Tamer El Mahdi as chief

Malaysian telco Maxis said on Monday it has fully restored services to customers following a fire at a telecoms tower that also knocked out services for customers of CelcomDigi and Telekom Malaysia’s Unifi Mobile.

Indian telco Bharti Airtel is reportedly coordinating with Google to use its platform to launch rich communication services (RCS) messaging – making it the last of India’s private telcos to do so – once anti-spam measures are sorted out.
