For the most part, widebody aircraft are utilized on long-haul flights, almost all of which are international and many of which traverse oceans and entire continents. Under extremely limited circumstances, the use of widebody aircraft on short-haul routes is both commercially and economically viable, and the United States domestic market is one of these few places.
