Located in the heart of North Carolina, Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is not only a significant gateway for air service within its US federal state but also for the country's Mid-Atlantic region. RDU offers a convenient location in Wake County, North Carolina, and it is situated 11 miles (17.7 km) northwest of Raleigh and 10.5 miles (16.9 km) southeast of Durham, the two cities from which it takes its name.
