Delta Air Lines announced that it will be permanently ending service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF), which serves Midland, Texas. This change is effective November 9, 2025, and it will be a relatively unique market withdrawal from the carrier. This decision comes as a result of the airline’s decision to reevaluate its operational strategy in order to better align flight schedules with passenger demand, especially as a result of particularly soft passenger bookings from main cabin travel. Department of Transportation analyses confirmed that this route had load factors averaging below 60%, which made it commercially unviable.
