American Airlines Receives 1,000th Plane: What’s Next For The Legacy Carrier?

American Airlines is one of the most popular airlines in the world. The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline was first founded in April 1926, nearly 100 years ago, as American Airways. Since then, the airline has grown to fly nearly 7,000 flights per day to nearly 350 destinations in 48 different countries. The airline is also a founding member of the oneworld alliance, one of the world’s three major airline alliances.
