CSX Railroaders Hospitalized After Georgia Wreck

Three CSX Transportation employees were sent to the hospital on Monday after two trains collided near Folkston, Ga., local media reports. At approximately 1:24 p.m., a CSX intermodal train collided with a parked ballast train. At least two locomotives and four cars derailed.

“We appreciate the swift response of local first responders. CSX has deployed resources to assess the situation, remove the equipment and restore the area,” CSX said in a statement to First Coast News.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
