As the demand for air travel steadily increases, so does the desire for long-distance direct flights. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), international air travel increased 41.6% from 2022 to 2023 and reached 88.6% of pre-pandemic levels. While the longest routes are operated by newer widebody aircraft, such as the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A350, the Boeing 767 continues to be an important player in long-distance air travel.
